"Rain", Raymond Carver
A certeza de que também cometeria os mesmíssimos erros me levou a traduzir este pequeno poema de Raymond Carver.
Rain
Woke up this morning with
a terrific urge to lie in bed all day
and read. Fought against it for a minute.
Then looked out the window at the rain.
And gave over. Put myself entirely
in the keep of this rainy morning.
Would I live my life over again?
Make the same unforgiveable mistakes?
Yes, given half a chance. Yes.

Chuva
Despertei esta manhã com a urgência
terrível de permanecer na cama o dia inteiro
e ler. Lutei contra isso por um minuto.
Depois olhei a chuva pela janela.
e me rendi. Coloquei-me inteiramente
nas mãos dessa manhã chuvosa.
Viveria minha vida novamente?
Cometeria os mesmos erros imperdoáveis?
Sim, se tivesse a mínima chance. Sim.
